Broadway For #BrAvery

After so much time and energy poured in by so many students from the Auburn and Lakeland Hills area, we were blown away by every single aspect of the first-everBroadway for #BrAvery on Saturday night.

Over 300 tickets were sold and there were over 20 musical acts and performances.

A HUGE thank you goes to the whole Webb family- McKenna Webb, who was inspired by Avery to create and plan the show. McKenna put in countless hours and over a years worth of planning, preparing, directing, promoting and performing to make the show a success. And Amee and Dean Webb, who supported McKenna every step of the way and put in so many of their own hours for this event, from securing the venue, items for the silent auction. And to Kendyll, who performed during the show.

Also, a big thanks to the ARHS Raven Players, Katy Nuttman and the staff of Auburn Riverside High School for hosting the event, Tahoma Athletic Club @ Lakeland for donating rehearsal space and time, Callie McCarthy and the Lakeland Hills Elementary cast of the Lion King, Kelsey BonhamJenny Link HeckKim Schultz McKeough and Christy Silvestrin Potter for the backstage coordination and decorating of the venue, Shannon Padur for handling concessions as well as all the families who donated baked goods, snacks and desserts for the event, Cassandra Hamilton Photography for photos the night of the show, and Melissa and Rob Poznanski for handling so much of the behind the scenes efforts leading up to performance night and for filming.

And lastly, a hearty thanks to all of the students, from local high schools, middle schools and elementary schools as well as local theaters and studios, who performed in Broadway for #BrAvery to make it the success it was.

Finally, we were honored to have Paul and Victoria Duersch come down from Lynden to attend. Paul and Victoria’s daughter, Lucy, is currently battling DIPG, and we are fighting for Lucy like we still fight for Avery. Please keep Lucy and the Duersch family in your prayers as Lucy keeps fighting. You can learn more about Lucy’s fight at Love For Lucy. Stay strong, Lucy!

It was yet another event that showed what a tremendous community and an amazing net of support we still have as we keep on in our fight to #DefeatDIPG. We are so thankful for all of the support.

Thank you to everyone who was a part of the evening- the curtain falls for 2017 but the curtain will rise again in Spring of 2018.
