“Be Strong, Go Gold” Gala 2016
Please join us for the inaugural “Be Strong, Go Gold” Gala 2016 benefiting the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation on Friday, September 9, 2016, in Puyallup, Wash. The semi-formal gala will be an evening filled with appetizers, drinks, dinner and fun. It will also include a silent auction and dessert dash. September is the internationally recognized month for pediatric cancer awareness, symbolic of the gold ribbons and “Go Gold” theme. We hope to create even more awareness for DIPG as we host the “Be Strong, Go Gold” Gala during this special month of national awareness.
The Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation was founded in May 2016 to honor the legacy and fight of Avery Huffman, who bravely and courageously battled Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) for 7.5 months before passing away on February 16, 2016. The Foundation is committed to finding a cure for brainstem tumors known as DIPG. Nearly every day one child in the United States is diagnosed with DIPG and another child dies from it. The Foundation seeks to make a difference and Defeat DIPG by both raising awareness of DIPG and by providing funding for research into effective treatments for DIPG.
