The fourth year of the 7on7 Association brAvery Tour kicked off in grand style over the weekend in Yakima.

The event, put on by our great, supportive friends at Barton Football, Taylor and Jessica Barton and Cody Oakes, was established in Avery’s honor.

One of the first events established in Avery’s name after her passing in 2016, were the AveryStrong Showcases, which have since been held in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Northern California and Southern California.

The 7on7 Association began in 2018, with tournament trophies and tents, field flags and more, bearing Avery’s name and our foundation.

Barton Football and the 7on7 Association have been among our biggest and most consistent supporters since our establishment.

So it was fitting that the first event, under our new name, the Avery Huffman DIPG Foundation, was a brAvery 7on7 event.

Making it even more meaningful this time around was Avery’s older brother, Cade, played in his first 7on7 event (even scoring a touchdown in one of his games), the first football event he’s played in bearing his sister’s name after playing in numerous baseball tournaments.

Day one also saw the presentation of a $5,000 check from the 7on7 Association to the Avery Huffman DIPG Foundation to kick-start our fund-raising efforts as our new foundation.

In five years, the 7on7 Association and Barton Football have donated over $40,000 to the Foundation.

The Avery Huffman DIPG Foundation was established in 2016 by the Huffman family, Amanda, Brandon, Alexandra, Cade and Addison, to raise awareness and funds for research to find a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma and to honor the legacy of our daughter, sister and hero, Avery Hayden Huffman.

A HUGE thank you to Taylor and Jessica, Cody, the Barton Football staff, the 7v7 Association teams and coaches, the other 7v7 coaches and all the players at the event, for coming, supporting the Avery Huffman DIPG Foundation, honoring Avery and being a part of a great event.
