June 30th will forever be the day that changed our lives.

The day of Avery’s diagnosis of DIPG, four years ago today, that fateful June 30th, 2015 afternoon where the doctors told us about a tumor and cancer that had taken hold of Avery’s brain stem, a tumor we never even knew existed, but became all too familiar with..

As the inspiration and the motivation of the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation, a foundation we so wish we never had to establish, the vow to fight back against the disease that took Avery’s life continues to be stronger than ever.

That’s why on this day we are proud to announce that due to the donations from two major events this spring, the #brAvery Northwest 7v7 Tour and Broadway for #brAvery, the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation is going over the half million dollar mark of funds raised specifically for DIPG research.

In a little more than three years since it’s establishment in May of 2016, which was launched a little less than three months after Avery passed away, the AHDDF has raised over $500,000.

And we’re not done.

There is still a long road ahead, more research to be done, more mountains to be moved.

But we’re moving them.

And we will continue to push them to move until a cure is found.

Until the phrase “nothing can be done” is changed, once and for all.

And we will continue to fight for Avery.
