The Inspiration Behind the Foundation Logo

The Logo for the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation is one that is near and dear to our hearts.

The overall design was by Stacy of Half Pint Press, a friend and former colleague, who graciously assisted the foundation with a number of designs.

But it was inspired by Avery’s classmates in her first grade class, taught by Ms. Sergis.

After Avery left us, her class made a fingerprint painting in Avery’s two favorite colors, pink and green, in the #AveryStrong logo (designed in the summer by Rob Poznanski) on a canvas for the school’s PTA Auction.

We had done a similar painting on a Tree of Life at Avery’s Celebration of Life Service with guests using their thumbprints in pink and green paint to put branches on the tree.

But to see her classmates do it in the #AveryStrong logo took it up a notch.

The painting was so perfect and moving that we knew we had to have it live on to honor both Avery, Ms. Sergis and her wonderful classmates who were such a blessing and encouragement to Avery every day she was able to go to school.

And that is the inspiration behind the fingerprint logo that will forever be a part of the Avery Huffman Defeat DIPG Foundation.
